For many decades people have been coming to the Berkshires to slow down, heal and gain insight into their own lives. While once home to the “summer cottages” of the nations wealthiest, we are now home to an entire industry of healing: from yoga retreat centers to spas to some truly amazing therapeutic practitioners.
But those who have spent time here know that the Berkshires most potent magic lies not inside any one of these centers, but outside them all. The natural backdrop can offer serenity, introspection and just the right amount of adventure.
We who have made the Berkshires our home and service our work could not possibly have picked a better culture in which to assimilate. The myriad acts of reinvention necessary to achieve profound change are mirrored in the culture all around us; a culture of inclusivity, individuals living with intention, a community of people doing its best to care for each other. A group of people asking hard questions of themselves and each other as we strive to reinvent not only our own lives but the community we call home.
For many of us, when we began to seriously pursue reinvention, in this place and with these people, we found the support and insight to help us realize we were not starting anew but becoming who we always were, and wanted to be.
The culture of giving in the Berkshires is extremely strong. Berkshire County is home to over 1,000 non-profits and an incredible educational resource, Berkshire Community College. Many of us have picked our educational pursuits back up at BCC.
We are blessed to have world-class healing and wellness services available right in our backyard. From yoga centers to retreats to some amazing clinical professionals; we've got it all.
Hiking, climbing, paddling, swimming, skiing, running, cycling. Whatever your flavor, we've got an option for you.
Some of the best Berkshire days are spend in the forest, intentionally placing one foot in front of the other. We have no shortage of beautiful, serene, and breathtaking hikes and outdoor spaces.
